You have to pass your theory test before you can apply for your practical test. The theory test consists of 50 questions (from Sept 07) and the pass mark is 43. The test consists of multiple choice questions. In addition there is a hazard perception test. this consists of 14 clips of film each lasting about 20-30 seconds. Each film will have one scoring hazard and you have to click the mouse at exactly the right time (when it becomes a "developing hazard") to score maximum points. One clip has two scoring hazards. Maximum score for each clip is 5 points, making a total maximum of 75. The pass mark is 44.
You have to pass both theory and hazard perception parts of the test at the same time.
